Penguin Books Great Ideas is a series of mostly non-fiction. A collection of world changing, inspirational ideas from great thinkers, radicals and visionaries, covering philosophy, politics, science and war. The covers are works of beauty. Masterful typography and composition along with classic touches of the kind of material available on this site. They are very tactile too. What these images don’t convey very well is the level of embossing and the quality of the uncoated paper. I highly recommend checking these out in a book shop. There are now five series of these books, below are all the covers from the first two. Designers of these include David Pearson, Phil Baines, Alistair Hall, Catherine Dixon.
All the books along with more information
can be found HERE at the Book Cover Archive.
The BCA is an excellent, constantly growing collection of book covers.
A great source of design inspiration.
